Broadchurch screenwriter Chris Chibnall and psychological thriller author Erin Kelly have joined forces to pen a novel based on the hit ITV series, which enjoyed viewing figures of nine million and had a second series commissioned before the end of the first.

The book is to elaborate on the TV show's events and delve more into the characters' backstories, and the world rights have been bought by Little Brown Book Group.
